The Office

• the Daryl/Dwight pairing this week didn’t work as well as the writers hoped
• for the first time I can recall since Michael left, a meeting scene actually (mostly) worked
• and it even had some amount of relevance to work!
• I’m hoping they’re not trying to set up some kind of Pam/Boom Guy thing, because it’s one thing to do a “trouble in paradise” arc (which I feel like has been one of the more interesting parts of this season) and another entirely to destroy the foundation of the show right at the end and leave us on a bitter note after nine fucking seasons
• like, I don’t expect Pam and Jim’s situation to resolve quickly or easily, but I definitely don’t want to see the show end with them split up
• it would be a bold choice, but not a good one
• where the fuck is Ed Helms?
• I’m glad the rest of the office is as annoyed that Pete and Erin haven’t just shut up and gotten together as the audience is
• they have moments I really like, but since we already watched this happen before more than once on this show, it feels old and tired the rest of the time

30 Rock

• can you believe next week is the series finale?
• what will the last hour be without TGS?
• as soon as Jack handed Kenneth the page uniform, I knew he would be the new president of NBC
• I mean, I figured anyway because of the fact that the position would be open and that Jack once said they’d all be working for Kenneth or dead by his hand, but that was when I knew it would be this episode
• even though Hazel’s storyline had some pretty serious story implications (like, you know, bringing about the demise of TGS), I still see the whole thing as a complete fiasco
• I love Kristen Schaal, but that character was never interesting and almost never funny
• this season has still been so good
• I hope next week gives us a better season finale than we already sort of got this week

Parks & Rec

• shouldn’t Tom already have some idea about basketball?
• I mean he had a court and NBA players in Entertainment 720.
• I expect him to be bad, but it seems strange watching him go about it like he’s a caveman who has never seen one of these mysterious baz-ket-bolz before
• Chris’ storyline highlights one of the best and worst things about modern dating: the fact that it is almost entirely based on complete ambiguity
• there hasn’t been enough Donna lately
• Ron running out of the room was perfect
• Ron and Xena’s love confession scene was also pretty perfect
• Aubrey Plaza has become an exponentially better actor over this show’s four seasons
• I’ve always enjoyed her performance, but in terms of just, like, skill

Archer

• least favorite episode of the series to date
• still really funny, which says a lot about the quality of the show
• did not like the rape joke at the end
• not even at all
