Earlier this year, the Supreme Court heard the case of Fisher v. University of Texas, a challenge to race-based Affirmative Action policies in the University of Texas system. The media neglected to mention that the plaintiff, Abigail Fisher, did not earn an automatic spot by being in the top ten percent of her class. They didn’t mention that her grades were not exceptional compared to other applicants, or that students of color with higher averages and SAT scores than hers were denied spots as well, and in greater number than underachieving white students. Instead, they focused on the common narrative that if a white student doesn’t get into his or her top choice, it’s the fault of minorities with low grades stealing spots. This narrative forms the basis of Suzy Lee Weiss’ highly-publicized op-ed “To (All) the Colleges That Rejected Me,” published in the Journal on March 29.
It’s 2013, and the governor of an American state thinks racially segregated proms are okay and that trying to integrate them is a leftist publicity stunt.
This is an actual thing in real life.
The South needs to be nuked from orbit.
Neo-Nazis made a Harlem Shake video that is also propaganda against “white genocide.”
The only comment I have that isn’t totally obvious is that apparently, they think there weren’t black people in America or Europe until the 1960s.
At a panel dedicated to minority outreach in the GOP, a Tea Party member from North Carolina (because of fucking course he was) defended slavery, said Fredrick Douglass should have been grateful to his master for feeding and sheltering him, asked why we can’t go back to segregation, claimed that white people have been “systematically disenfranchised,” said he’d be fine moving toward a society where black people are subservient to white people, and was applauded for his remarks.
And when a woman stood up to him, he answered, “I didn’t know the legacy of the Republican Party included women correcting men in public.”
The panelist from Fredrick Douglass Republicans, instead of talking about how fucked up homeboy’s comments were, instead bashed the woman who spoke up, called the dude’s comments simply “racially insensitive,” and mentioned that they talked about it afterwards and left the conference as friends.
It’s funny that a panel on minority outreach was the perfect demonstration of why black people who aren’t Uncle Tom and Beulah sucka niggas wouldn’t vote Republican if there was a gun to they grandmama’s head.
This is the secret history of this town. This is the undercurrent that still flows through it. The perpetrators of these crimes (and, to a much larger extent, the 1898 coup d’etat) are honored. The victims are erased and ignored. This town is built on white supremacy. I want out.
Lena Dunham (via jillathrilla)
dumb ass.
(via magalomania)
Lena Dunham can’t go more than two days without vomiting some anti-black nonsense.
Martin Luther King, Jr., on Affirmative Action.
White people today love to make it sound like MLK would have been against Affirmative Action (assuming, you know, racial quotas weren’t ruled unconstitutional in 1978, before any of the kids whining about it today were even born), but it started well before he died and he was very explicitly in favor.
Here is a very comprehensive list of why Lena Dunham sucks.
If that’s not enough, she did this tonight.
There’s also commentary from WoC criticizing Donald Glover’s character in an episode saying that his only purpose to the show/plot was to have one trendy PoC.
Then there’s this article in which Lena Dunham’s white writer for the show Girls claims the n word is her favorite word. This same woman also responded to criticism of the show being racist, with her own racist joke.
So there you go. Sources to give for your hatred of Lena Dunham.
Someone needs to make a “shut up Lena Dunham” star.
I posted this a while ago, but I felt like it should be brought back up because it also indicates that his son, Rand Paul, who is still in the US Senate, has also been meeting with neo-Nazis to discuss policy. This is a thing I feel like people should know.
Another article on the subject and how white journalists today, as they did when Spike Lee dropped Do The Right Thing in ‘89, think that white audiences will be debating the message, but us simple-minded black folk will only get the message that white people are the enemy and start rioting.
Whenever someone tells you we’ve reached equality, remember that the mainstream white media can outright say that black people are not as smart or able to control themselves as white people and nobody bats an eye.
